I love this quote!
"There are all different kinds of voices calling to you, all different kinds of work and the problem is finding out which is the voice of God, rather than that of society, say, or the super-ego or self-interest. By and large, a good rule for finding out is this: The kind of work God usually calls you to, is the kind of work (a) that you need most to do, and (b) that the world most needs to be done...Neither the hair shirt nor the soft berth will do...The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.” ~ Frederick Buechner
I do love this quote. The only thing I really struggle with is figuring out how to find that place, and making fiscal ends meet in the meantime.

Thanks for the comment, Kelly. I've asked myself the same question. The answer I keep coming back to is that I have to believe that God surely knows that if we are not providing adequately for our families, we can hardly be in a place of "deep gladness" - and since we are called to a deep gladness, somehow this need to provide will be met. I confess I'm not so great at mapping out a plan to get there in every circumstance, but it never fails to amaze me how things work out in retrospect when our focus is on heeding our calling and meeting the deep needs in the world around us. Best wishes on your journey and please keep us posted!
