We've all had the experience of working with a colleague who is chronically unhappy - no matter what is happening they focus on the negative and cast an aura of gloom and despair wherever they go. It's stressful to be around people who are chronically unhappy. We dread being in meetings with these folks, and might go so far as to avoid the copy room or hallway when we see them there.
Have you ever had a time in your life when you were the unhappy colleague? I know I certainly have. I definitely did not have a "career encouragement" approach to my work early on in my career. It is something that I have worked at.

How to Think describe 4 simple habits to help you be happier. Just think what the workplace would be like if we all adopted these habits! How about we start with #3 right now?
Happy Monday! :-)
Hi, Very interesting article. Also my friend Sanjiv Bhamre has written an interesting book "Five Great Myths of Career Building". Also he has some blogs on the same topic. I feel you both would benefit mutually if you explore. His blog is http://build-a-corporate-career.blogspot.com/. Do check it out.
