Great post! I particularly liked your statement "In some ways it actually insults employees to treat them as helpless victims of a faceless corporate machine, rather than treating them as agents of change and creative beings who are capable of developing skills, doing great work, and making a positive contribution." This is so true - we help nobody by allowing them (or even encouraging them) to view themselves as victims.
